Come to a neighborhood leaders gathering

We bring neighborhood leaders together to share what is working, compare notes, and build relationships across neighborhood lines. This started in 2024, before NCC existed as an organization, and it is still the heart of what we do. If you lead or help run a neighborhood group, you are welcome. Nothing to join and nothing to pay.

Every gathering so far

• March 19, 2026, East Park Community Center. Community assets: the businesses, skilled neighbors, and organizations already making East Nashville stronger, and how groups can better use them.
• November 1, 2025, Donelson Library. The first Nashville Neighborhood Summit, hosted with the Civic Design Center. A keynote from neighborhood leader Mike Hodge, a panel of local organizers, and resource sessions from Greenways for Nashville and Walk Bike Nashville.
• June 25, 2025, East Park Community Center. Our summer gathering, and where the Summit went from an idea to a plan.
• February 26, 2025, Shelby Community Center. Short-term rentals and zoning, case studies of neighborhood groups giving back, and the first serious conversation about a citywide summit.
• August 20, 2024, Center615. Built around a survey of what neighborhood leaders felt confident about and where they wanted help. Funding, volunteer recruitment and communication came back hardest.
• May 23, 2024, East Park Community Center. The first one. A few neighborhood leaders in a room working out whether this was worth doing again.

Donate

Nobody here is paid. All five board members are volunteers, and so far our costs have come out of our own pockets. Your donation goes to the unglamorous things that let neighborhood groups operate without doing the paperwork themselves: liability and directors insurance so sponsored groups can hold public events, the state and federal filings that keep our 501(c)(3) in good standing, accounting for every group whose money we hold, and supplies for neighborhood socials.

We use Zeffy, which charges no platform fee, so the full amount reaches the work. Give whatever makes sense for you.

Lend a hand

You do not have to lead a neighborhood group to be useful here. We are five volunteers doing everything, and there is more to do than we can get to.

There is no application and no form. Email us, say roughly what you would enjoy doing and how much time you have, and we will tell you honestly whether we have something that fits right now.

Coming soon

Membership

We are building a membership program for individuals and neighborhood organizations. It is not open yet, and we would rather launch it properly than rush it.

The part worth knowing now: members elect Directors. Our Bylaws set aside a number of board seats to be filled by a vote of the membership rather than by the board itself, and members can nominate candidates by petition. This is not a mailing list. It is a say in who runs the organization.

You do not need to be a member to work with us. Membership is not required to hold an account, to come to a convening, or to ask us for help.
